About Micki
I grew up in Omaha, then moved to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after high school. With all intentions of moving back to Omaha after graduating with my bachelor degree, life happened and I remained in Lincoln for the next 20 years. During that time, I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from Doane College in 2009 and founded my private practice, Colibri Counseling in 2012.

When covid entered the scene and changed so much of our world functions, I was able to see more clients via telehealth, which provided me the perfect opportunity to move my practice and make Omaha my home again.
Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of roles providing mental health services, including:
-
adults and children affected by abuse
-
adults and children with developmental disabilities
-
children, teens, and families struggling with behavioral challenges
-
youth involved with the juvenile justice system and their families
-
couples focused on improving their relationship

Currently, I am primarily focusing my practice on helping adults with ADHD cope with and improve their ability to function with all the strengths and challenges comes along with the diagnosis.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching my nephew grow and demonstrate more and more why he is my favorite human, using whatever creative energy I have to create something new, and trying to decipher what my dog and cats are trying to communicate.
